The 2nd Sodality-themed Activity for Conference Planners Held in Grand Millennium Beijing

On July 12th, 2012, the 2nd Sodality-themed Activity for Conference Planners was co-held in Grand Millennium by MeetingsChina Magazine, CTS MICE Service Co., Ltd., and Beijing High-end Tourism and Meetings Industry Association (BHTMIA).

Distinguished guests represented by Ren Jianghao-Director of the High-end Development Department of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, Zhu Yongzan-Deputy Director of of Chinese Medical Association, Wang Xin- President of CTS MICE Service Co., Ltd., Wang Chuncai from the Tourism College of Beijing Union University, and Wang Qingdao-Editor-in-chief of MeetingsChina Magazine were present, and they discussed and networked with over 40 people from conference planning firms, PCOs, and conference hotels on the theme “Annual Meetings Planning & Strategies for Operation Management”.

Huang Liuliu, Director of Business Branch Three of CTS MICE Service Co., Ltd. delivered a vivid speech from such topics as the notion of an annual meeting, creativity, decision-making, organizing, guarantee & annual meetings cases. “All creative ideas regarding theme activities should focus on the specific goals of a certain annual meeting. Attention ought to be paid to questions like ‘what are the focus of leaders?’, ‘what do employees want most?’, ‘what is everyone’s expectation(s)?’, ‘How to satisfy various kinds of needs and requests?’” said she. Besides, by saying “Details count”, Ms. Huang emphasized every link of the holding of an annual meeting from preparation to coordination should be dealt with in great detail.

While Zhu Yongzan, the Deputy Director of Chinese Medical Association, addressed from perspectives such as the determinants of an annual meeting, the organizing of an academic meeting, requirement analysis, preparations, on-site implementation, after-meeting evaluation, and challenges. He attached special importance to the inter-dependant relationships between annual meetings and associations, causing strong resonance among guests.

Ren Jianghao, the Director of the High-end Development Department of Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development made interpretations about the 2012 Beijing Municipal Meetings and Incentives Encouragement Fund Program, appealing to more qualified PCOs to participate in the application for this policy and mobilizing PCOs to join Beijing High-end Tourism and Meetings Industry Association (BHTMIA) so as to jointly promote the development of meetings industry.
