CMIC 2012: The Annual Award for China¡¯s Meetings Industry--Marble Pillar Award
The Marble Pillar Award--Annual Award for China¡¯s Meetings Industry¡ªrepresents the highest honor in the meetings domain. This time CMIC 2012 set up the following awards, namely, Award for People of the Year 2012 in China¡¯s Meetings Industry, Award for Most Popular Conference Destination Cities 2012, Award for Best Green Conference Destination City 2012, Award for Most Popular Conference Centers 2012, Award for Most Popular Conference Hotels 2012, Award for Most Popular Green Professional Conference Firms 2012, Award for Most Popular Professional Conference Firms 2012, Award for Best Green Conference Organizations 2012, and Award for Special Contributions Done to China¡¯s Meetings Industry 2012.
Cheng Meihong, Deputy Director of Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration, Chen Lin, Director of Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition, Wang Xinzhang, Deputy Director of Hangzhou Tourism Commission, Liu Haiyin, CEO of China National Convention Center, and others were crowned the Award for People of the year 2012 in China¡¯s Meetings Industry.
Shanghai is among the trail blazers in developing the MICE cause. Ms. Cheng Hongmei was the first person who appointed conference ambassadors across China¡¯s mainland, drafted and introduced China¡¯s first regional standard for the meetings industry, all of which have vigorously boosted the internationalization of Shanghai¡¯s meetings and incentives.
As a late-comer, Chengdu has achieved conspicuous success in the conference & exhibition cause. Mr. Chen Lin seized upon the precious opportunities to actively fuel the development of Chengdu¡¯s conference & exhibition enterprise, as China places emphasis on developing economy middle- and west-wards. Notably, he invented the ¡°Chengdu Mode¡±, which has made the inherent roles of conference industry in promoting other aspects of society ever more outstanding.
Mr. Wang Xinzhang established China¡¯s first MICE association, and built a professional MICE website with leading edges, nationally and internationally. He also spared no effort to push forward the advancement of Hangzhou¡¯s MICE industry, and has successfully helped Hangzhou build the image of MICE destination city known as ¡°Successful MICE in Hangzhou¡±.
Mr. Liu Haiyin is a veteran in the management and operation of China¡¯s renowned conference centers, as well as in theories of the meetings industry. By taking advantage of many-year experience in the hotel management, he established the management & operation mode featuring a combination of hotels, conferences, exhibitions, and offices with flying colors. Besides, he drew theories from practice, publishing a book of authority named Design, Operation and Management of Conference Centers, and also drafting national standards for China¡¯s meetings industry. Consequently, he has contributed greatly to the development of China¡¯s conference industry.
Besides, Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Nanjing was conferred Award for Most Popular Conference Destination Cities 2012 respectively, while the Award for Best Green Conference Destination City 2012 went to Chongqing, Xi¡¯an, Qingdao, Guiyang, and Sanya individually. All these cities have shown the level and traits of the development of China¡¯s meetings industry.
In addition, conference hotels and centers which at the meeting industrial chain also benefited a lot from this convention. Of which, China National Convention Center (CNCC), Shanghai International Convention Center, New International Convention &, Exposition Center Chengdu Century City, and Qujiang International Conference Center were crowned the Award for Most Popular Conference Centers. With respect to the Award for Most Popular Conference Hotels, the honor was shared by CITIC Guoan Grand Epoch City, Dalian Sweetland Hotel, First World Hotel ¨C Hangzhou, Dong Shan Hotel, Dalian International Finance Conference Center, and Kunming Yunan Conference Capital. These conference centers and hotels are pioneers in China¡¯s meetings industry, no matter judged by software or hardware standard.
Still, Trends, ACC, HRH Communications, HighTeam Marketing Communications, and BlueStrategy were given the title of Award for Most Popular Green Professional Conference Firms 2012. And the Award for Most Popular Professional Conference Firms 2012 went to International Conference & Exhibition Business Travel Company of China Comfort Travel Group (CCT) MICE Center, CITS International MICE Co., Ltd, China International Conference Center for Science and Technology (CICCST), and GZL International Travel Service Ltd.
The Award for Best Green Conference Organizations 2012 was shared by Site 2012 International Conference Beijing, recommended by Beijing Municipal Commission of Tourism Development, Global Automotive Forum 2012, recommended by Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Exposition, International Rooftops Landscaping Association 2012, recommended by Hangzhou Tourism Commission, National Network Intelligence Conference, recommended by ACC and China Mobile Games, Low Carbon and Contamination Earth Summit 2012 (Xi¡¯an), recommended by BIT Congress, Inc, China Development Forum Summit (Weihai, Shandong), recommended by China Development Forum, and China Food and Beverage Executive Summit 2012, recommended by China Decision Makers Consultancy (CDMC).
The meetings industry emerges itself as one touches wide-ranging domains, which decides that its development is closely independent on other walks of life. Calculated from this point, the Award for Special Contributions Done to China¡¯s Meetings Industry 2012 was given to Huelead and Info Salons for encouragement.
